Self-care means a lot of different things to different people. Mental health charity Mind describe self-care as techniques and lifestyle changes which help manage the symptoms of many mental health problems. To me, it’s simply taking the time to myself to do things which I enjoy and which make me feel good about myself. I decided to share a few of those with you!

4 Ways I Practice Self-Care

Blogging

This might come as a given but I love blogging and creating content, taking photos, writing and editing. I like to take the time to sit down with my camera or laptop and get some work done that I’m really happy with, about topics I love. I think, when you’re a creative person like I am, it’s really important to have an outlet for that creativity otherwise it gets bottled up and just makes you frustrated!

Playing Games*

While I’m not a hardcore gamer, I love playing games like Guitar Hero, Pokemon and The Legend Of Zelda. Something that takes me into another world and helps me shut off for a bit is my fave! I’m not really into Xboxes or big consoles like that, but I much prefer the unique little handheld ones, like my Nintendo DS, the Nintendo Switch or the Wii U (which you can find some great deals for here). No matter what your preferred method of self-care, Latest Deals have loads of fantastic deals on things that make you feel good and you can save a bit of money in the process! I know retail therapy is something that also counts as self-care for me so go on, treat yourself!

Colouring Books

I’m not even ashamed to admit that I’m a huge stationery nut. Ever since I was a child I’ve got irrationally excited about different coloured pens. Even glitter glue, art supplies, stickers, you name it. When the adult colouring book trend started up I was so excited! Sitting down with a good design and my coloured fineliners is one of the most relaxing ways to spend a Sunday. My mum even got me a Harry Potter colouring book one Christmas or birthday. I don’t remember which, but it combines two of my favourite things.

Going Swimming

As long as I can remember I’ve been a water baby. I’m really lucky to live a 10 minute walk from the beach. For some reason, being in the sea or a swimming pool is really calming to me. I try and go for a swim when the weather is nice and I can just sit and hang out on the beach with my friends. Would 100% recommend a dip in the sea when it’s sunny!
