Alternative ideas for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is something that sparks a number of emotions in most people, whether it be love, disdain or
pure indifference. This year I’ll be taking some time out to celebrate myself and how far I’ve come in the past year, but here are some things you can do with your day!

•Spend time with your friends. An obvious one, but Valentine’s is a day for spending with the people you love. Gather your friends and chill out together!
•Put on your favourite movie, drink some wine and eat some chocolate. I’m one of those people that has a tendency to wallow in self pity so I’m definitely going to have a bottle glass of wine and chill out to Sing Street, Whip It or another equally cheesy fave movie.
•Find somewhere nice to walk. When I need to take some time out I enjoy going for walks down the beach or in a nice park, and it’s a good place to clear your head.
•Cook yourself a meal with all your favourite ingredients. Mexican food is my favourite type so when I need a pick-me-up, cooking is the way forward. If you hate cooking, order in!
•List all the things you love about yourself or ask your friends for inspiration. It’s a sure fire way to perk up!

Finally, remember that no matter who you spend the day with, at the end it’s just another 24 hours passed. ✌
