Glitter Tears Makeup Look

I’ve been super quiet recently as I’ve been busy moving house, but in my free time I’ve been loving playing around with some cool makeup looks (when it’s not so hot I’m sweating it all off my face). For my birthday a couple of weeks ago I decided I wanted to do something a little extra – because why be basic when you can be extra – and ended up trying out this cute glitter clown/tears look. Also – I finally took my hair back to a cute colour, what do you think to this lavender shade??

Glitter Tears Process

The first thing I’ll say about this is that washi tape is your friend. I always start my makeup with my eyebrows (Makeup Obsession Brow Duo in Medium Brown with a wet angled brush) before moving onto eyeshadow. For this I applied washi tape at the corners of my eyes up to my eyebrows to create a clean line and applied Urban Decay’s Original Primer Potion all over the lid.

For the eyeshadow, I used a mix of the darker two purples from my Morphe 35B Colour Burst palette in the crease and blended up, then used the shocking pink for my lid. Side note – this is one of my favourite palettes ever and I use it for almost everything I do, would 100% recommend.

Eyeliner is NYX Cobalt Blue Studio Liquid Liner (similar here) which is another one of my faves – I’d also like to throw a shoutout to all the products mentioned so far as I went out with this look on for my birthday, went swimming in the sea after a night out and my makeup was still intact when I got back! On my eyelashes I used Benefit’s They’re Real mascara – another all-time fave. Glitter Tears creative makeup look | The Colour Chronicles

For the glitter tears themselves, I stencilled the triangle shape out by applying more washi tape on my eyelids and under my eyes and liberally applied Barry M’s Holographic Eyeshadow Toppers* in Luna and Asteroid. I won these in a giveaway not long ago and I’ve been obsessed with the whole range ever since – I’ve been using the eyeshadow toppers in almost every creative look I do as they’re so much fun and last so well.

My foundation is the Milani 2-in-1 Conceal+Perfect Foundation+Concealer* (obnoxiously long name) in shade 00 Light Natural which I think is a pretty spot on shade for me! I’ve been using this a lot recently as it’s good for coverage (specifically covering up the slight red patches of mild sunburn on my face) although it’s not the lightest to wear, especially in this hot weather!

Last but not least, for lipstick I chose Jeffree Star’s Blue Velvet Liquid Lipstick which might be my fave colour lipstick EVER – obviously not an “everyday shade” (even though I say wear what you want when you want) but I absolutely love it and the Jeffree Star formula is really comfortable to wear.
