I was really excited to get contacted by Smile Makers recently because 1. I love orgasms and 2. toys are fun. So when the Tennis Coach dropped through my letter box, he and I got down right away to play a little ball…
I’ll give you a little background first. Smile Makers are a new company marketed as having “the friendliest collection of vibrators on the planet” and to be honest, there is something warming about the cute little smile stamped onto the bottom of each of them – they’d make a fantastic brand for newbies to the world of sex toys, as well as more experienced users. The collection features a range of four vibrators – two designed for clitoral stimulation, and two for both clitoral and internal use – and all four are entirely waterproof and made from phthalate-free silicone. (Keep in mind that none of them have flared bases so they are NOT suitable for anal use, unless you like a little risk I guess? JOKING. Don’t stick them up your ass.)
The only slightly disappointing thing about the collection is that they’re all named after men, such as the Fireman and the Frenchman, or given masculine personalities on the website. The heteronormativity bothers me slightly, however names aside, I love how they’re all given individual personalities as it makes them seem fun.
As for the down and dirty: like I said earlier, I chose the Tennis Coach from the collection which is a classic g-spot style stimulator which can be used both internally and externally. All of the collection are only 40db which is so quiet! I live with flatmates currently, so I’m not going to be one to turn down a bit of discretion.
It has 4 speed settings and a pulsation setting and is so easy to use – insert one AAA battery (not included), press the button on the base to turn on and click to go through the settings, then hold the button to turn off. The silicone on it is so smooth and you can tell it’s really high-quality, so big ups to Smile Makers for that one.
The 5 settings are great – there’s a lot of difference between them so if you’re after something light or strong, there’s going to be a setting on it you enjoy. I’d love to see the range developed with a couple more pulsation settings as I really enjoy them, but the Tennis Coach does the job (so to speak) and is a lot of fun to use!
The collection is available on their website and in Superdrug stores and each vibrator is priced at £34.95 each. I’m not sure if their packaging varies but mine arrived in a clear postal bag which is something to keep in mind if you’re after some discreet postage.
