What I got for my 21st birthday

I’M 21 NOW AND THAT MEANS I’M AN ACTUAL PROPER ADULT, PAST THE POINT OF RETURN.

FUCK.

So this past Sunday (June 26th) marked the ability of me being able to get drunk in America, and I had a party on Saturday night with a few of the BFFs and my family, got drunk, went to bed when the sun was coming up, the usual. Sunday was pretty chilled out and my sister came round in the afternoon,  before spending the 27th at Go Ape in Sherwood Forest with her and her fiance which was a right laugh! If you’ve never been, I would definitely recommend it, they’re located all round the country.

Anyway you’re all here to have a nose at what I got for my 21st, so before we crack onto that, here’s the usual disclaimer that I’m not trying to brag in any way, I just know you’re all nosey and like these kind of posts xo

From one of my best friends Perri I got this gorgeous ASOS crystal necklace and a NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Moscow, because she knows me down to a T and I love crystals and blue lipstick. Standard.

After telling her exactly what I wanted some very subtle hinting, my sister and her fiance bought me Viktor and Rolf Bon Bon because I’ve been after it for about 6 months, dousing myself in it every time I set foot in Debenhams. It’s got a really sweet vanilla scent, my favourite kind of perfume. It also came with a mini set of a handbag sized perfume, a body lotion and a shower gel.

They also got me some Disney Pop Vinyls from Mulan, my fave Disney film. I’d actually told my sister about these back in January and promptly forgotten all about them, so they were a fantastic surprise.

Another of my best friends Gemma gave me a stunning rose gold bar necklace from Lisa Angel, engraved with “Kimberley” on one side and “Happy 21st” on the other which didn’t come up very well on camera but are easily readable on the necklace. I love it, it’s so subtle and elegant!

A few years ago Gemma bought me a Nomination bracelet which I’ve been collecting charms for ever since, including one I got for Christmas. Gemma’s mum got me one to add to the bracelet which is a cute little shoe – very apt as I have a shoe collection bordering on ridiculous!

From my godmother, I got a Boots gift card which I’m so excited to spend. I think I’m going to save it and do some research first so I don’t waste it on crap products, but I’m predicting a haul coming up soon. (Also the cupcake print is damn adorable).

Adding to the shoe collection, my dad treated me to a new pair of Dr Martens as an early present a couple of weeks ago! I haven’t had the chance to break these in yet because I’ve been so busy but when I do, they’ll be boss. He also got me my Download Festival ticket which I haven’t pictured but you can read my post about Download if you so fancy.

In my family we have a tradition to receive a watch on our 21st birthdays. However, being the awkward git that I am, I don’t like or wear watches so my mum did want to buy me jewellery. Being even more of an awkward git, we couldn’t decide on a piece of jewellery that she approved of and I would actually wear, so I came up with the idea of a fancy fountain pen – I love writing and a nice pen would last just as long as nice jewellery.

After much deliberation, I finally settled on the Mont Blanc Princesse Grace de Monaco Ivory fountain pen, and honestly I think I’m in love with it. It’s so gorgeous and has a great weight to it, it’s so well balanced and I can just tell it’s going to be a dream to write with.

It also came with some leather cleaner for the case and some nib cleaners from my mum (I mean I didn’t even know nib cleaners were a thing but I’m gonna roll with it). A family friend bought me some beautiful coloured inks for it – I think I’m going to start with Lavender Purple!

Thank you so much to all my family and friends for the gifts and for making my birthday wonderful!
